Trials and Tribulations of a Face Scrub

I began working out the formula for a coffee, aloe, sugar facial scrub.  This first batch is a bit too runny.  I’d prefer a thicker consistency.  While it is a bit thinner than I’d prefer, it is still usable.  Currently my 14 year old daughter and I are using it and despite the consistency, we both like it.  Not too harsh on the skin and moisturizing, without leaving us feeling greasy.

At this time we each have different types of skin.  Mine is mature (a nice word for 43 years old), combination with an oily t-zone and dry patches on forehead and cheeks.  My daughter’s skin is oily and acne prone.  Benzoyl peroxide products dry out her skin, leaving it a bit blotchy.  Finding something that is helpful to the both of us is a plus.  I’m going to work out the ratios and get a great final product out to you.

It contains:

  • Coffee grinds
  • Sugar (granulated)
  • Aloe Vera gel
  • Grapeseed oil
